11" square button Latamas switchblade. All the steel was hand
forged by Jerry Rados in Turkish twist Damascus. One knife was
twisted "left/right/left" and the other twisted "right/left/right" so that
they are a mirrored duplicate of each other. Scale material is
mammoth bark ivory with midnight blues, dark greens, some black
and tans with a carmel base color. All 4 pieces were cut from the
same side of mammoth tusk. One knife has flat guard bolsters and
a flat style vintage grind on the blade while the other has standard
style round guards with swept grinds on the blade. Both knives
have been vintage profiled with all the edges melted and peeled.
Full wrap-around filework on the .090" Damascus liners and
Damascus spring. Slide safeties are on the sides of the scales, to
the right of the square buttons and are also Damascus. All the steel
was taken up to a full mirror polish before etching and then hot salt
bluing. Even the screws the knives were built with were hot salt
blued. Both knives are "proto-types" as they are the first Damascus
square button Latamas produced by Burnknives.

As shown: $5000 each piece.
In the above pic, on top of the liner,
underneath the top scale is the
safety head protruding out slightly.
Safety is in the engaged position.
